RE: SOMA on GOG? - Sakonosolo - 08-29-2015 I'm still debating if I should get it on GOG or Steam. Quite a few games on Steam allow playing without Steam running and I'm wondering if that will be the case with SOMA. I mean I'm not one of those drm=evil people and I like Steam in general and don't know which I want to order on. If anyone from Frictional sees this, can you play SOMA without Steam running? RE: SOMA on GOG? - 7heDubz - 08-29-2015 I would assume not, you can always run in offline mode, RE: SOMA on GOG? - Googolplex - 08-29-2015 Jens said they won't use Steam DRM, which means Steam must not be running. RE: SOMA on GOG? - Traggey - 08-29-2015 Steam is not required to play the game, merely to download it. RE: SOMA on GOG? - Bucic - 09-20-2015 I personally like to support smaller players whenever I can. In case of games it's difficult because I buy two games per year at most. So this seems like a perfect occasion to support GOG! Besides, you can always add GOG games to Steam library if you want and if you don't pay attention to "achievments" and other gimmicks. RE: SOMA on GOG? - syclick - 09-20-2015 Seems the Humble Bundle Store simply offers a Steam key. They only pop up during transitions or when they don't break immersion, but you can hide them. RE: SOMA on GOG? - Kein - 09-21-2015 I'm 100% sure GoG version will be superior to any other version. RE: SOMA on GOG? - nebej - 09-22-2015 The steam version of the game ships with two exes. 1) Soma.exe (Steam cloud and workshop support but no DRM) 2) Soma_NoSteam.exe (free from all the steam stuff) |
