RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - Gearhead - 06-19-2011 Here is the LevelEditor.log file, from after the black screen: RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - plutomaniac - 06-19-2011 the log shows that the editor stops, with the black screen, after section Game Running. Yours is like that: Quote:............................previous things here............................ Mine though, I deleted the log and just started and closed the editor, is normal: Quote:............................previous things here............................ I don't know what's wrong. It is like it can not run the game when in the editor or something... Attach me the same file after running the editor with the old driver. I want the same with Amnesia, the game. So in total 3 files. Maybe we can find a connection there but the editor log does not specify the problem. It has to do with drivers, we know that but... RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - Gearhead - 06-19-2011 well this is the hpl.log file from my amnesia/main folder. This is from starting Amnesia and then quitting at the main menu, and this is with the latest drivers that allow Amnesia to display properly. RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - plutomaniac - 06-19-2011 Ok, it seems to be working alright with the new driver. What does the log say when on the old driver on both Amnesia and Editor? In order to compare I need in total 4 log files. 2 x Latest Driver (Working Amnesia + Broken Editor) 2 x Previous Driver (Broken Amnesia + Working Editor) I all cases just open and close(if possible) the game, editor. For now, I have the first two from the latest driver. RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - Gearhead - 06-19-2011 Here are my logs from the previous update: previous_hpl This is the log from documents/amnesia/main previous_LevelEditor This is the log from documents/HPL2 previous_redist_hpl This is the log from the redist folder RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - plutomaniac - 06-19-2011 The Previous LevelEditor log is the same with the New LevelEditor one. The old one stops at the same spot. Didn't you successfully saw and exited the editor? Also, from the logs of course, the main game doesn't seem to have any problems with both drivers. If you were using the old driver, how did you load the main game? From the old driver log is seems that you reached the main menu. I'm a little-bit confused now... RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - Gearhead - 06-19-2011 Ah I see what you mean. These are the new logs from where I have both run and exited the editor (before I had just run it and forgot to close it) Amnesia has always managed to open properly for me, but the problem with the previous driver was that anything to do with the 3D graphical part of the game would just be a pure black screen. So for example the main menu would load, but there would just be the white menu text on a black background. In-game, there would be subtitles and sounds, but nothing else, just a black background. Mostly everything was fixed with this new driver update though, so thats no longer a problem. RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - plutomaniac - 06-19-2011 I see now. The problem is exactly what you described. With the new driver you can run Amnesia but not the editor. With the old driver you can't run Amnesia but the editor. Ok, this is really crazy but indeed it is true. The truth is that you can play amnesia only with the latest driver. So, we must find a way to make the editor run as well with the new driver. Is this a laptop or a desktop? What operating system exactly? If it is a laptop, what model? RE: HPL2 Editor Black Screen - Gearhead - 06-19-2011 It is a laptop computer. The map viewer works perfectly. The particle editor and model editor give the same black screen results. Must be something to do with the type of interface the editor is using.
