You did say we were allowed to use exponents though.Yes, but only use eights and no other number. Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough. (8 + √√(8 + 8))^√(8 + 8/8) RE: Riddles, brain puzzles and mathematical problems - BAndrew - 12-07-2012 (12-07-2012, 01:54 PM)Bridge Wrote: Your puzzle sucks. RE: Riddles, brain puzzles and mathematical problems - Froge - 12-07-2012 I tried to look for the most plausible factors that can multiply up to 1000, eventually narrowing it down to 10^3 and 8 * 125. However you can't string together five 8's to get 125, while it's possible to make a 10 and a 3 using three 8's each. Next puzzle coming up in a few hours RE: Riddles, brain puzzles and mathematical problems - Bridge - 12-07-2012 (12-07-2012, 06:29 PM)BAndrew Wrote:It's just not a fun puzzle. It's like asking someone to construct a C major scale using only sharpened or flattened microtones. It just takes a long time to figure out and it is not enjoyable at all. When would you ever come across a number and need to know how to notate it using obscure use of symbols and using only one number?(12-07-2012, 01:54 PM)Bridge Wrote: Your puzzle sucks. So I pretty enjoyed it, but I guess that's a subjective view. |
