D: you should give it a go! It's not actually a competition :) Besides, how else are us not-yet-vets going to improve unless we actually participate?

Edit: Also, Traggey, what modelling program do you use? I've been meaning to try some of this stuff out over the summer before I get dragged into the world of university and adult stuff :p

Guys, I think I'm not going to be in this Environment thing anymore. I'm developing my own game and I'm very excited! Maybe I show you a screenie of what I have done in the week, as a compensation...

:)

@Kiandra

Precisely, when you are with veterans, the thing is not to be shy and say "I wish I was like you". Having veterans here IS good, as you can ask them things (and let's be honest, if we compared one of my Amnesia maps with one of yours, I'm sure yours would be like 4 times better ;), which would make you a veteran for me).

Well, here's mine.

Anyone wants to add/fix something?

Or ask anything? I don't know what's next.

It has the game menu because i tested there.

Oooh are we sharing screenshots now?

OW! D: You hit me :c

I'm not a veteran; the only thing I'm even slightly good at is mapping. Please don't hit me again :'c

As for Amn: Get rid of the screen effect. It's only noticeable in a few places and, although it's a neat concept, it doesn't really do anything to benefit your map :)

Also, in case I don't show up again for a few days, this is my city at the moment: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5340/9098641732_c942fd5aec_z.jpg Yay floods

Spoiler below!

Also, I suck at detailing non-mansion-base environments; any advice?

Yes, the black hole of doom is intentional c: But seriously, candles are starting to get boring. Also, I fragmented it because... well, it looked neat but I'm leaving out a corridor in that picture because I haven't detailed it enough to my standard of obsession

Also, everyone else here is totally going to serve my butt to me on a silver platter with their amazing custom assets and castle-base temples of amazing.

Oh, and source of inspiration: http://zerg118.deviantart.com/art/Servant-of-the-Castle-180709181

Let's see, what can I say about this so far? Uhm, 1600 static decals, 40 decals, 140 particle systems, 20 lights, a hell of a lot of candles. Also, you can apply decals to primitives underneath static decals so they don't get that weird flickering/opaque effect (I'm sure you all knew that) and it looks kind of neat (like on the wall with the candles). I can't think of anything else I learned so far from doing this that I can share that may be helpful.

So this is just to make a pretty screenshot? Hmmm... I haven't touched HPL in probably a couple months. Perhaps I'll get in on this as well. Gotta think of something pretty to do.

Taken from mayas crappy viewport, so yeah, don't expect much lighting wise, will surely look better in-engine.
