Many puzzles have multiple solutions. But for some like the barrel there have been reasons for not having more solutions, in this case it was a technical problem that it would require new specific code and it would take too much time to do for only adding one more solution to a specific puzzle.

also, don't you think it's strange that a flare won't set the gasoline barrel on fire? I know you want players to use the lever but it would be good as an alternate solution that comes with the penalty of losing 1 flare for not thinking hard enough.

Yes, I also tried to use flare before the spark.

I tried to use flare on the sprankler directly and then I tried to ignite the barrel with the flare first.

haha duh i just figured that out, funnily enough i didnt use the coin to get the item i needed to fix the thermostat, i just bashed it with a rock lol
