Some pics from "The Otherworld":
Please, have in mind that it is "The world of madness" (later explained in the story) and that the red is the natural color of the place. I also changed resolution and it might look a bit compressed vertically.

The room is pretty big both in height and width... I don't know but the fact that there are empty places annoys me, somehow...

I simply think you made your room too big.
You cannot just fill it with boxes or anything.
Either try restructuring the room, and see if you can decrease the empty spaces, or you can fill them out with more tables, since it looks like they are the main purpose of the room...
I'd choose the first one.
