[solved]Can't turn around - bob - 05-20-2007 The demo starts without problems but the mouse movement is oddly restricted. Sometimes but not always the mouse cursor acts like it hits a wall in the menus, i.e. I can't select "Exit" from the main menu because the cursor stops before it gets there. But always when the game starts in the ship I can't rotate left at all and can only rotate right around 45 degrees. This makes playing the game impossible. I tried removing the entire .frictionalgames/ directory and closing everything and restarting X. Still have the same problem. The log file has the following lines: Quote:Game Running gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r4, 2.6.17-gentoo-r7 i686[/code] RE: Can't turn around - SirTwist - 05-21-2007 same problem over here, but i know the problem and a workaround thats working for my box. The game doesn't catch the mouse so every time you try to turn around the mousecurser leaves the game "window" (yes even if its full screen this is possible (but only on 2 screen systems)). The workaround that helps me is to switch down to another X mode where i only have my main screen enabled and the secondary screen is of, then penumbra works great. RE: Can't turn around - bob - 05-22-2007 Thanks. That was the problem. Never had that happen on a fullscreen game before. An oversight in the coding perhaps? It would be nice if it was fixed for the linux release of the full game. |
