Making A Grunt Dance - NylePudding - 11-03-2011 So here's what I want to do, make a grunt dance. It's only going to be for an intro, so nothing very complicated is going to happen, I simply want the player to see the grunt dance. So I thought the best way to go about this would be to make a copy of the grunt himself, and change the idle animation to him dancing. So then all I would have to do is make him ignore the player and he can stand there and dance. ![]() I've found an idle animation for him in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\amnesia the dark descent\entities\enemy\servant_grunt\animations\idle.anm" So am I right in saying all I would have to do is change that idle animation, to one of him dancing? (There is also an animation called "idle.dae_anim" to which I don't know it's purpose) And here's the big question, in what program (is there a free one?) will I be able to change that animation to a dancing one? (which I will make myself) I have never done 3-D modelling animation, hopefully I can work it out. Thanks. =] RE: Making A Grunt Dance - Acies - 11-03-2011 It's done in Maya. I have thought about doing this myself, so I could do it one of those days when I'm bored. RE: Making A Grunt Dance - Your Computer - 11-03-2011 I'm strangely reminded of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV7gl9GcWAc RE: Making A Grunt Dance - Acies - 11-04-2011 (11-03-2011, 11:17 PM)Your Computer Wrote: I'm strangely reminded of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV7gl9GcWAcHahaha ![]() RE: Making A Grunt Dance - MrBigzy - 11-04-2011 I was tempted awhile ago to do a grunt Thriller, but I decided against it since I had too many things on the go at the time. D: Also, idle.anm and idle.dae_anim refer to the same animation. The anm is some sort of cache file I think. But I've noticed it isn't free, perhaps I'm just being too hopeful, but there isn't a free alternative is there? x] I would probably buy it for future use if it was around £100-£200, but $3,500 for Maya is a bit too much of a set back for me. xD RE: Making A Grunt Dance - flamez3 - 11-04-2011 Don't quote me but I think you can use Blender as well. RE: Making A Grunt Dance - JenniferOrange - 11-04-2011 If this works out for you PLEASE put a download link on the forum. I'd want it so badly for an easter egg. Lmao xD RE: Making A Grunt Dance - Arvuti - 11-07-2011 Will give this a try tommorow. Ripping and rigging the flappyface probably won't be that hard but currently no idea on how to get the animation into amnesia. Eh i'll see what I can do. |
