I joust bought the game for my birthday after hearing how good it was, but I'm actually rather frustrated. I don't understand what's going on at all. When I try to start the game, it immediately crashes and I get this message in the "black box."
Amnesia.exe. caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module <UNKOWN> at 0023:00000000
Er... I have no idea what's going on.

Can someone please help me get thins running? I tried it on a laptop, and it didn't work. I figured this desktop would work fine, but it's not.

Thank you so much for the advice. I have been trying to follow through with it, but it has been very difficult. The Dell website seems to be loading very faultily. I've tried both the link you have posted and I've tried loading the website in different ways. Silly Dell people lol.
Will check in when I get their site up.

Hmm.. Well video cards are a lot more expensive than the game lol. I didn't expect it to be unable to run on such a common video card. Is there any way I could get my money back for this game?

Go to start and type dxdiag. At the Screen tab, what graphics card does it report?
Basically I need to know if you have a dedicated graphics card instead of only the Intel embedded one.

Hmmm ok. Well, I know the next step is a new video card. Does anyone know of any video cards that can support Amnesia and are inexpensive?

Stare a maximum price and maybe a preferred store with online catalog. Pretty much all new graphics card can play the game.
