Trouble with box lights - Prelauncher - 11-09-2011 I have two rooms, one quite bright and one quite dark, they´re separated by a door. Both rooms have their own box lights, thus creating a strong edge between them which is visible when opening/closing the door. Does anyone have good solution to this problem? RE: Trouble with box lights - palistov - 11-09-2011 Don't use box lights except to create an ambient light level across an entire map. As you mentioned, the contrast between the inside of the boxlight and the outside is VERY noticeable. My suggestion is to use a low level box light (RGB values of 0.05-0.08 and an alpha of 1), and to create a bright area, use a point light with an appropriate light level and radius. I thought alpha is waste of resources unless its used on some bright point light or spot light. "Always set Alpha to 0 for all general ambient lights. It really speed things up. Only use alpha for important lights that has some more visible intensity" -Jens |
