Could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial for light-rays in a window, please?

I would use the one in the video and wiki page as they use the connecting billboards to light thing, which is really really really really really really useful.

Put a fair bit of effort into making this room look realistic, but something doesn't feel quite right about it. What do you guys think?

-Same room, different angles-

It's the carpet.
It is very large and stretched, makes the room feel unrealistic.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - Zokrar - 06-21-2013

Should I remove it completely? Or what would you suggest I do?

EDIT: Does this look better:

Better, maybe turn it a few degrees? Gives it a nice touch Wink

Also, the corners are way too dark. Maybe add bigger pointlights and add a boxlight to get rid of them. Also add a blue spotlight with gobos and billboards to the window. There should be light getting in through that.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - Zokrar - 06-21-2013

How do I adjust the brightness of a boxlight? Have never used them before

EDIT: messed about with a few things, got the boxlight working. How does this look?

You change its diffuse color.
The smaller the RGB values, the darker is the color. The larger they are, the brighter the boxlight is.

Color > Set everything between 0.05 and 0.09.

Edit: Argh. I got ninja'd >.>

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - Zokrar - 06-21-2013

Thanks for the help Tongue I know this next question doesn't really belong in this thread, but...
How do I make a window break when I throw a chair at it? It has no option to set active/inactive, so I'm not sure how to go about it.
