Actually, that's pretty accurate. I have about.... 6000-ish grass models in the Courtyard map and it lags something awful, even the rain particles are freezing up.

ALL HAIL KIANDRA FOR BEING THE BEST GIRL IN THE INTERNET

i, um.

i dont think she was talking about the forum.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - CarnivorousJelly - 08-06-2013

Subtle references ;D I may have been referencing Something Awful forums but then again, I may not have been.

Edit: I was wrong about the grass. I actually have just under 9300 foliage_grass01 on the map. Optimizing the hell out of this.

I'm just going to redo the grass entirely. It's too much effort to get rid of so many pieces of grass D: Anyways, roof. Is this better?
Spoiler below!

It was a pain-in-the-butt to make it look decent.
1st Screenshot - Standing on top of the arched gate
2nd Screenshot - Standing under it, just a tad closer than 1st screenshot of last batch I posted

Oh, and one more thing:

I'm really curious if it's just my computer or if I'm doing something totally wrong, but launching this map in-game makes the frame-rate drop to 7fps... it's only 502 kb. I attached the map as a .rar, if you want/have time to help me out and let me know if it does the same on your computers, that would be wonderful :D

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - JonnyAnomaly - 08-06-2013

If you want to get rid of a lot of stuff, you can just ctrl+F and type the name of the grass, then select the top one in the list, then shift+click the bottom one, and the whole lot gets selected. Might take a while to select though, 9300 is a lot of grass!

I loaded your map, and my framerate is in the 80's, so seems fine for me. Eagles are a nice addition, roof looks a lot better now

WOO! That should be bad news for me, but I'm relieved it's just my computer's problem :p

I think he was referring to my map, which did infact have 9298 grass o: Well... before I deleted them all

Kiandra, I'll try your map when i'm home, because this pc sux. (that means 10 days oSmile
but screenshots look pretty good though!

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - CarnivorousJelly - 08-06-2013

Thanks, Hardarm.

Also, I think we have a spambot in our midsts.

Edit: @Robo
QnQ I wasn't keeping count and I just sort of spammed the model because I wanted really luscious grass... would've been only 500, but then I made more areas that required grass, so I kept duplicating that section and adding it to other areas.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread - CarnivorousJelly - 08-07-2013

Well is 600 any better?

Also, I think I actually understand what you were saying about the ground being too flat now.
