Robosprog I will end you
Spoiler below!

Okay so! Recent map, you say?

The lighting's pretty nice but it's lacking contrast. The shadows are the same colour as the light. What the fuck man? I thought you were better than this Sad if the map's too big to handle boxlights, use a few large-radius, super dim pointlights. The shadows should be blue, but much darker. Speaking of darker shadows, y'know what would be lovely? If there were any shadows. Just make sure all the spotlights point in the same direction (radiate out from the sun's position on the skybox). Pick a few areas to light up. That map looks intense on the engine, so pick your special shadowy places carefully so they really pop.

Speaking of contrast, your map's blue, orange, and green, but none of these colours are really popping at all. Maybe the shadows will fix that, but it's something to keep in mind.

Alright moving on to the physical stuff. I see some pine trees. And these pine trees don't have branches going all the way down to the bottom. This would normally indicate a large amount of foliage blocking sunlight from going any lower (bushes, more trees, ferns) or perhaps a fire. If it was a fire, where's the indication? Rust decals do a great job of making things look burned. If not... add in the stuff I just talked about. You could also use some splashy particles to make the water look like it's running (if that's a river to the left and not another bit of pond). If you want to make it a stagnant pond, the moist wall static decals could do a good job mimicking algae.

Then there's the issue of that arch... dude, I like your dedication to using vanilla assets... but jfc, you know how to model! Why not make the arch in another program and import it? Much less intense on the engine and then you'd have the resources to make the lighting fancier.

Also screenshot composition. Nice placement of the arch... right in the middle of the image. Ever hear of Rule of Thirds? I know you know because you've preached it before. Turn a little to the left to get rid of the giant mass of rock taking up the last 3rd of the screen and crouch to bring the horizon closer to the bottom third. That way, the little details on the arch would be directly over two intersecting third lines and you wouldn't have a boring wall taking up 30% of your picture.

All in all, this seems like you were trying something new and it didn't quite work out. Your maps are gorgeous usually, but unfortunately this is a step back in quality. Give it a little more polish and it has the potential to be great!

That's more like it ;p

Nice map, robo. One thing:

It's a cellar. Shouldn't it have more dust? I know there are dust particles in the light, but I feel like actual dust would also fit in.

This is no doubt a dumb question, but I've been attempting to insert an image to receive criticism, but every time I preview my post, it shows it as an attachment. Is their a way to do it without having to use a remote URL.

Thanks for your time. It has been a few years since I added an image to one of my posts.

Upload the image to a website, something like Imgur, or you can download an application such as Puush to upload your photos with keyboard shortcuts.

Once uploaded, copy the URL of an image and use the following bbcode syntax:

Code:
[img]Your Image URL.[/img]

An example could be this:

Code:

Which will show this (without the spoiler box. Using it to keep my post a bit shorter):

Good point!
Nice thought process.

I seriously worked for an hour on this window. The idea is that it's night outside, so I played with the colors a lot to get to this one. I think it's alright, what do you guys think?

It is WAY too dark. I had to open the picture in a new tab to see the room. Have you tried placing really dark blue, dimly lit point lights around the area to simulate light bouncing off the walls?

Actually I thought it's too lit while playing it lol. It looks darker in the photos.

I added a very faint pointlight:
