If your being chased by a monster and run into a room that's a dead end, tis not the end!
grab a big box or movable chest, hold it slightly above your head, CLICK LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
if all goes well, your head will clip into the box and the monster wont see you

Ehm why make a that big of deal about it?
I always just keep a box like that that I can't see the monster then he won't see you neither.
And ye, It's an old cheat.
