Combo Color Replacement Lanterns! - Statyk - 03-02-2012
Bored and thinking about changing the color of my main lantern replacement (originally black), I decided to make a bunch of colors and designs, as well as change the emitting light to add to the theme. And here, I give you Lantern replacement colors and light colors. If anyone has any ideas on designs or colors that other may use, please don't be afraid to leave a little reply down there =]
NOTES/FEATURES:
1) These files are made to overwrite original files, PLEASE MAKE BACKUPS!! I am not responsible for lost files, and if needed, I will post my back up files.
2) These files are not designed for Total Conversions. These are made to replace the game's main lantern, which will work throughout the story and all custom stories using the lantern. No altering of custom stories is necessary.
3) These files are separated for simply copy and pasting, as well as overwriting. No extensive steps are necessary.
4) These files are separated between .dds and .ent, which means you may mix and match colors between the lantern itself and the light color...
_______ .DDS = Textures, as well as illuminations
_______ .ENT = Replaces the lights for the model
FOR EXAMPLE, a lantern can have a RED texture and a RED light, or a RED texture and a BLUE light, the variations are up to you!
INSTALLATION (Copy and Paste, Overwrite)
- Navigate to your redist/root folder and open "models > hand_object > lantern" and replace the files with matching names from the colors you downloaded and overwrite. This is the model in your screen. Files to replace:_______ "hand_lantern.dds"
_______ "hand_lantern_illum.dds"
_______ "hand_lantern.ent"
- Then navigate to "entities > item > lantern" and replace the file given as well. This is the model found throughout the worlds. Replacement file:
_______ "lantern.dds"

Here is a preview of each texture color, as well as its matching light color. The last one is "Ghost" which replaces the arm and lantern but I have not put it up. This is more of a personal design...
