Penumbra Overture don't launch - acal3000 - 12-18-2007 Hi I recently got the Linux port of this game but I can't launch it When I try to launch the game I get this message: [root@localhost Penumbra Ep1]# sh penumbra which: no chcon in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/lib/qt3//bin) ./penumbra.bin: error while loading shared libraries: ./lib/libvorbisfile.so.3: file too short Penumbra exited unexpectedly, please check /root/.frictionalgames/Penumbra Overture/Episode1/hpl.log for any error messages Also try running ulimit -c unlimited And re-running Penumbra and try and recreate the error then submit the generated core file or stack trace [root@localhost Penumbra Ep1]# I tried also looking the hpl.log but it seems the file didn't created I can't find it What can I do to fix this? And try to update the libvorbis package For the hpl.log file, run the game under your user account (NOT root) an post it here. RE: Penumbra Overture don't launch - acal3000 - 12-19-2007 I saw a bit the installed files and seems the insaller make them bad lots of the files had 0 bytes but I saw the installer left in a tar file i uncopressed them and ten I overwrited the 0 bytes files and now complained about ccannot start the sound system in KDE. It don't impress me since i updated to MDV 2008 I have had some sound problems with sound programs I tried Fluxbox ICEWM and this one seems wnat to launch but say my graphic driver don't support some features but How can i update the drivers from a Radeon 9250? This line is strange: "Max texture image units: 140432928 Max texture coord units: 140432928" Make sure to set shaders to Low, in options or else you might have problems. Also, according the log, nothing goes wrong, allthough there is a test missing (might be because it is the Linux version). The first error u say is becacuse of a currpost oggvorbis file. Is this still here? So far nothing tells me your gfx cannot run the game. Did you have low disk space? If you could see how to recreate the 0 byte files during install bug so I cab recreate i can fix it. As for the graphics, it looks like you are using the software GL driver on the system instead of a hardware excelerated one. Check that you installed the drivers correctly. Also try another opengl game and see if it runs correctly. |
