[SOLVED] The flashback voice effect - Theforgot3n1 - 05-05-2012 Hello there. I've been starting on doing flashback voice works, and am now wondering how I can make the effects that are used on the voices in the game flashbacks. It's a sort of muffled sound, making it sound ghost-like, I dunno. RE: Flashback voice effects - Adny - 05-06-2012 Adding reverb is the way to go. Reverb is kind of like an echo; imagine you're in a big room and yelled something, that's reverb.I suggest using Audacity, its free, and you can export it as an ".ogg"file, suitable for Amnesia's engine. Effects are very simple for it, simply click the track, press the effects button at the top and select reverb. RE: Flashback voice effects - Kurton - 05-06-2012 A cool trick with reverb is to first reverse your vocal-track, apply the reverb, then reverse it back to normal, gives a nice ghostly sound :) RE: Flashback voice effects - Theforgot3n1 - 05-06-2012 Hm, I tried using reverb, the echo, but it didn't sound close to what they do in the flashbacks. Tried the two-tactic but it sounded just odd, not flashbackly. Using Audacity. Reverse your recorded voice so it's played backwards and add reverb effect on it 2. Render it 3. Take the new rendered audio and reverse it (so it's NOT playing backwards) 4. Add another reverb effect on it 5. Render, and ur done RE: Flashback voice effects - Theforgot3n1 - 05-06-2012 (05-06-2012, 12:04 PM)JMFStorm Wrote:Where can i find the "render" option?(05-06-2012, 11:09 AM)Theforgot3n1 Wrote: Hm, I tried using reverb, the echo, but it didn't sound close to what they do in the flashbacks.1. RE: Flashback voice effects - Kurton - 05-06-2012 Render, meaning export, as in saving it as an OGG or MP3 EDIT: Oh no, wait, I think he means "apply," like changing it so the reverb is actually part of the audio, and not just playing in real-time. Audacity doesn't do this, it just applies the effect once you hit "OK," so no need to look for a 'render' option. RE: Flashback voice effects - Theforgot3n1 - 05-07-2012 EDIT: Nvm it, this is solved. |
