From what i've read, they outsource the linux port to an independent software developer (I don't have the names and info, but it's some guy that works with opensource software and Linux). So it's ultimately up to them to port it.

Yah, it's been two months, i'm done checking back here. I guess I'll spend my money on something else.

Penumbra Overture sure was fantastic! Maybe I'll read a transcript/walkthrough of Black Plague some day, just so I'll know what happened.

I check several times per week, but still "coming soon" and "soon" is rather subjective.

Could be the $20 per sold copy just isn't enough to cover the porting expenses? If there's a financial issue with the Linux port, charge $40 for the Linux version, I'd still buy it. And I'd buy "The Collector's Edition" with both games 2-3 years from now too. Smile

If Black Plague is half as good as Overture and the gameplay is 20+ hours I'd say it qualifies as a Triple-A title, easily contending with the other $50-$70 games on the shelves.

Big cheers to the programmers and story writers of Penumbra Overture! I haven't found any bugs/glitches and gameplay and story works well together. Good teamwork!

Oh, and for what it's worth, the Linux demo *installer* crashes after it extracts the files and attempts to run the installation gui. Run "unset DISPLAY" to use the character-based installer and it works fine.

Thanks a lot, worked for me. Tried Ubuntu 7.10 & 8.04 and the installer crashed in both, your solution did the trick.

Edit: The demo itself worked flawlessly, can't wait for the full game Smile

Regarding my above mention of no content on the site - it seems that the age verification code doesn't work with firefox 3 beta 5 - I had to look at the code and manually add the correct cookie to get to the download link. The age verification code on the publisher site appears to work fine though.
