I have to nag you about stereoscopic amnesia again - Ahmed Quast - 06-03-2012

"Again" because others have already nagged you about it. Having gotten a 3D TV a strong force keeps reminding me to play Amnesia in real 3D using it.
All attempts to find a way of using the 3D-TV with it failed because it is OpenGL-based and not DirectX.
It seems that a DirectX - OpenGL - Wrapper cannot be written for amnesia's openGL.
So I have a request for you: Please write a patch for your game that includes a stereo mode into Amnesia. I heard it was easy in OpenGL to create something like that.
I guess if two images are next to each other my TV will get it and display it properly. And when you are at it, please include all in all 4 hotkeys for changing the position of the image plane plus and minus aswell as total depth plus and minus.

I guess the more people reply to this thread the higher the probability of the patch being written.

Thanks in advance.

Amnesia is not made for 3D, as simple as that. You can't expect the developers to make something like this.

A great consideration though, if you play in 3D for a while you will have the same experience as Daniel, head is throbbing and vision gets blurry.

A-fucking men.

3D is so useless. It's been almost 60 years and it still sucks. No amount of useless 3D imagery is worth the drop in framerate, the blurriness and the feeling you're playing an FMV videogame (whose clever idea was it to have the characters in 3D at all times? Almost all 3D movies I've seen have this, it honestly makes the characters look copy-pasted in, like in an FMV gameā€¦). Virtual reality is where it's at. I can't wait until you can actually experience games and movies in this fashion. May be a long time, but if it happens in my lifetime I'll be happy.

You must be retarded to not want this feature.

Reasons?

Okay who here has actually PLAYED a game in 3D??? I mean a game that is MADE FOR 3D??? If done right, it's a LOT of fun! I have a 120hz monitor and some 3d glasses, and I love it! I think it'd make the game a bit scarier if it was in 3D.

I think it'd make the game a lot scarier if it was in 3D. I played Condemned: Criminal Origins throughout in 3D. The most impressive experience so far.

OpenGL-Games often contain no 2D-Elements which makes them a perfect fit for 3D-TVs.

Imagine how scary Amnesia would be if the computer was hooked up to your brain somehow and you were literally in the game and could even feel sensations such as cold etc.

Yeah. And 3D TV is the first step towards such an immersive experience.
