Overture odd lighting issue - ChocElite - 07-14-2012

I really don't know if this is a normal thing, but whenever I turn the flashlight on in Overture It makes everything a colorless white with no detail.
Specs

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: LENOVO
Processor: Intel® Pentium® CPU B950 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
(If you need more info just ask. idk what to give when asked for system specs)
EDIT: Its all lighting that removes color and detail, not just the flashlight

not sure what the issue could be right now but try uploading the HPL.log which is located in
C:\Users\USERNAME HERE\Documents\Penumbra Overture\Episode1
that may help us understand what the issue could be, also what is your GPU? (Video Card)
And do you think you could upload a screenshot of this occuring?

RE: Overture odd lighting issue - ChocElite - 07-15-2012

I put everything in the first original post. In DxDiag.exe it says "Intel® HD Graphics Family"

not on my pc atm but intel cards do have issues with penumbra ill check the log when i get on it

Hm, Well since your using an intel GPU you may need to upgrade but if your on a laptop that isnt possible, however try reinstalling it and see if that fixes it, because from what it looks like the game may not be installed properly

RE: Overture odd lighting issue - ChocElite - 07-15-2012

I reinstalled it, but I only uninstalled it by "Deleting local content" on steam, and the problem still persisted. My saves were still there though, so I am going to try removing it through program files.

I have also just updated my Graphics driver from 8.something to 15.something

It also bothers me that I can see perfectly fine in the dark, thats not how horror games are meant to be played.

The problem persists after a complete reinstall. Is there nothing else I can do?
