LOL, I'm not surprised she looks like that - mind the whole infection going on and stuff... And she probably hadn't had a shower for months, considering the survivors barricated themselves in any possible room of the Archaic base left free of Infected ... :-P :-)

But yeah, she is clearly female from the back, while laying face to the ground.
It's just lack of detail on the front of the model. Notice the face.
