You could just save yourself the money and headache of this crap and just do some LSD.

RE: Oculus Rift Support - Arvuti - 08-02-2012

I personally wouldn't call something what THE John Carmack has worked on crap.

Daikatana.
Daikatana was a John Romero's/ ion storm game not a id software game the only connection to Jonh Carmack was that it used the Quake engine nothing more, and btw his Quake engine would then be used to make Half Life 1, one of the most praised games of its era.

I would definitely want to try it. Like Arvuti said, seeing a game itself instead of monitor would be awesome and build immersion even more. But world is not ready for technology like this, maybe after 2-4 years.

With that kind of mindset the world will never be ready.

Hm. I could have sworn that was Carmack. Well, I knew it was a John, at least.

The market for this thing is going to be super small, and the thing itself is probably going to cost quite alot of money, it's too risky and a giant waste of resources for a small indie company to put money into this.

Oh yeah, how do you know. Have you been to the future ? If so, can you tell me when half life 3 will be released.

For 275 bucks you can get the prototype for it, i'm pretty sure that the version what will be available for consumers will be like 100-150 bucks or something.

Nice mindset you have there buddy, disregard anything new and cool because it costs money. It's not some random junk what adds almost nothing to the game experience, this would help out with immersion so much. Besides wasn't there a novit falcon version of penumbra black plague, that thing never caught on.

RE: Oculus Rift Support - Macgyverthehero - 08-03-2012

I like the idea of immersion by using this new piece of technology.
But it should be Frictional Games choice to choose if their games should be compatible with this.
