More then one can know without trying the device that holds the future of gaming.

Indeed. The experiences possible through this are limitless.

Screw the next Xbox and PS4, this is the new way for gaming. (Not the only way, but an awesome one)

This.

Big developers should focus on future gaming technology like this, not on hardware updates like PS4.

Wow.. heh. I've been following the Rift for a while, actually have it on pre-order too. I can't wait for stuff like this to really kick off!

Heart PLEASE add Rift support! It can't be THAT hard to do, with an already first-person game. And the dev kits will be out in a few months! ;D

It would be intense, and a little insane, to play any of their games using the Oculus Rift! Cool

Most of their games already have hugely immersive atmospheres.. It'd almost be too much in VR. lol

Regardless of whether they add support or not, for either the new game, or DD, I'm sure we'll see mods which add it anyway. And I can't wait!

Imagine having to cower in a wardrobe, while wearing the Rift! Holy cow that'd be horrifying and claustrophobic! 0.0

Side note, those earlier-page replies to this thread, are shameful. What were they thinking! XD Hope they eat their words!

RE: Oculus Rift Support - pewpewk - 01-18-2013

I am dying waiting to get my hands and try developing on the Rift. From what I've heard, implementing support for the Rift isn't all too difficult. There's no reason the chinese room couldn't implement it in a patch, either. The CEO of Oculus said Rift integration can generally be added in a day or two, especially since HPL is written in C++ (the main language of the Oculus SDK).

Now, he does state that while support can be added in a day, developers will often find that their game isn't "VR ready" in the sense that for a good VR experience, everything needs to be scaled appropriately, be detailed, etc. So who knows whether or not the Rift would work well without a significant amount of work, but the fact of the matter is basic support could be added in a day and sent out via a patch. It is by no means unlikely that we'll see this in AAMFP.

Just chiming in to support the call for Rift support

RE: Oculus Rift Support - Statyk - 01-18-2013

I love how the posts bumping this thread are from users with the bumps being their only posts. I'm sure FG are aware of Oculus and know it would help enhance immersion. Though chances are it won't be available for AMFP (especially since AMFP is planned to be released soon, and Oculus is still in development...) If ANYTHING, I could see it being available in HPL3. But I can't see it happening forthe new Amnesia coming out...

BUT IF I'M WRONG, I'M SORRY.

RE: Oculus Rift Support - Grexeo - 01-20-2013

I'd also like to encourage Rift support ASAP after the SDK/dev kits are available.

I purchased Amnesia on Steam purely on the hope that I can play it with the Rift.

Amnesia is scary and immersive enough alredy, don't see why this advertisement is needed here.
