Going to have to go with this one.

Put this over anything already sad, and I feel it makes it much more depressing.
Alas, the game has very little replay value. It fell flat in some areas(Like the ending. No Gusta.) but overall it was alright.

Gray Matter is full of sombre, bleak tunes that really get to you. They're amazing on their own, but they work especially well in the game because, well, it's fucking amazing. The characters are probably the best non-abstract characters I've ever encountered in a game. Jane Jensen and Robert Holmes are a magical pair.

A lot of it, like these two, aren't really sad, but they're definitely emotionally potent:

But near the end, after a certain sad scene, this started playing and nearly brought me to tears:

I'm surprised no one mentioned Halo 2 or Halo 3's OST. Look up Halo 2's Finale or Epilogue song if you get the chance. For Halo 3, Tribute is a good one.

Basically just Dear Esther's soundtrack, but I'm sure you've all heard it so I'm not going to bother posting it

I love this.

What I love most about this song is that it has a strong contrast to Assassin's Creed 2's "Ezio's Family", which had a sort of, youthful, uprising feel to it. This song in contrast had a feeling of...wait for it...revelation. The revelation you get when you're at the end of the line, regardless of whether it's in life, or otherwise.

It wouldn't work with my computer

I didn't want to show any of Penumbra/Amnesia music, because I think we all know the fantastic sad music already and the idea od the thread is to show sad music in other games. So, there are very much good emotional tracks. I wanted to show the credits theme of the german RPG "Gothic 3" with music composed by Kai Rosenkranz and played by Bochumer Symphony Orchestra.
Wonderful epic and sad. This game also get an award for the best music.
