why is there so darn many of them?

take my advise, stick to Arstechnica, CynicalBrit and Wired, they at least know what they are on about,
Good question :/
And yes, gotta love getting some CynicalBrit, great guy Smile

RE: Really Machinima? - Robby - 09-03-2012

What in darnation does this thread have to do with Amnesia?

I know, it refers to Amnesia, but the thread mostly focuses on Machinima. Maybe move to Off-Topic?

RE: Really Machinima? - the dark side - 09-03-2012

probably best to move to off topic indeed nemet robert, seeing as the thread is likely to become a massive critique as to how machinima is doing very badly these days.

@prelauncher, i could have sworn Cynical was two guys, Totalhalibut and Totalbiscuit, at least. still, true, they are great guys, great taste in games (old school), easy to listen to, they know what they are on about, they are Genuinely funny (its spontaneous, not forced like machinimas brand of non humour) and they are not afraid to show themselves "getting it wrong", on the rare occasions they get a hard game either. i tend to go for there "W-T-F is..." reviews as soon as ive finished the months PC gamer Mag (shame it doesn't Have the free demo disk anymore because publishers want you to download demos offa steam these days, i've still got that AWESOME demo disk that had Half Life:Uplink, and the playable demos for Unreal 1, SIN, and Quake 2 all on the same disk) too see what they made of a game that has caught my eye in the mag. (Serious Sam 3 (wich "biscuit" described as "the sort of game the industry needs to start making again!" i agree 100%) and Max Payne 3 being the last 2)

im sick of troll review sites like Machinima, IGN, Gamespot, 4 gamerz, etc, though, they make gamers look like we are all "for teh lulz" trolls! I dont want to listen to childish forced humour, and i certainly dont want "call of duty is roxorz" shoved down my throat (call of duty and its clones suck, they have killed the fps genre, wake up and smell the darn cofee!), im sick of seeing proper games like SS3 and Hard Reset getting hammered by these so called "professionals" because the people on the site cannot cope with the difficulty because they are used to pathetic modern gameplay hand holding rubbish like regenerating health and chest high cover and 2 gun limit, were as pasturised, consoleised, americanised, dumbed down, modern, Short, casual AAA games get inexplicably good scores, were as i find them either excreable or even downright unplayable.

If you ask me the sooner the mainstream industry goes belly up (its inevitable, too much "AAA" shovelware on console again, just like 1982) and takes the mainstream sites like machinima, Ignorant Gamers Network and gamespot down the porcelain tunnel with it, the better for all "died in the wool" gamers.

RE: Really Machinima? - Robby - 09-03-2012

Well, why won't anybody move the thread? The sooner it is moved the better.

RE: Really Machinima? - the dark side - 09-03-2012

chances are the mods are not online, or dont know that the thread needs to be moved, my advise is to send Traggey a PM.

Yeah, I guess we shouldn't be suprised. The only thing I watch on Machinima nowadays is Two Best Friends Play.
Even they're getting a bit saturated and boring. Freeman's mind and Bro Team are the only channels I respect.

Just noticed, no mods online ATM. Best wait until they spot this. Otherwise, a PM solves everything.

RE: Really Machinima? - the dark side - 09-03-2012

yup. seems to be quite rare they are on these days for some reason. quess different forums run different policies for moderator accessability i quess.

Done Smile the subject seemed more Amnesia related at start but now the thread belongs in Off Topic

@Streetboat They have their ups and downs, I really enjoyed their latest video playing Sleeping Dogs. I'm subscribed to their own channel where they put up more content including actual lets play videos which often are more enjoyable than their machinima videos. But I'll make sure to check out Freeman's mind and Bro Team!
