I wouldn't go so far to say that it's horrible. It's just a different kind of scare. More intense.

NOT INTENSE!!!! Does it have some going for it? Yes, without a doubt, but it's NOT more intense.

I agree with failedALIAS. On the custom story I'm making, there's a part where a Suitor runs out from a doorway and attacks you. Still scares me shitless.

I meant that it compacts it's horror into a smaller, boiled down package. The build up happens in a shorter amount of time, more eminent danger, etc.

I agree that some of my most Apprehensive moments happened in Amnesia, but the build up is much slower. Perhaps I used a poor choice of words.

How is a lack of build up equal to intensity? You talking random jump scares, son.

RE: Really Machinima? - Gaviao - 09-04-2012

in my point of vision,in amnesia, everytime you pick up a key, open a door, blow up some stones, enter in a room or something, you will never know what will happens,if a monster will come out of there or you will find a terroristic scenario or a challenge to do in a short time, but in slender... you know that when you pick up the first note, slender will start to follow you,and in the time, when you pick more notes, he becomes faster,or start to teleport...but it is too repetitive...

I did mention a poor choice of words.

I wouldn't say lack of build up. The gradual intensity of the sounds as you progressed certainly caused me a bit of unease. The jump scares weren't necessarily in bad taste, so I forgive them. It IS repetitive though, which is why I only played through a few times before stopping.

I like your style, Aldighieri. You got smarts.

RE: Really Machinima? - Ghieri - 09-04-2012

You are the second person to compliment me today.

Needless to say, my face is really beaming. Thanks for that!
