I didn't own any video games until I was like, nine. However, my first game was this one at a friend's house.

I don't really remember for sure to be honest. I "think" it was this:

^This has all kinds of epic in there. Especially the boss fights. As a kid, seeing that boss health bar for the first time made me realize shit had just gotten real.
