I feel you OP. Amnesia was my first horror game too and I remember how I had to quit the game when I was in the Archives. I felt how adrenaline rushed in my blood, and I was hooked. I was amazed how a little game could make such emotions in me. It was a whole new experience for me, and now I love Amnesia and Penumbra.

I played several horror games before Penumbra got to me, which had a higher impact on me.
Amnesia was quite better. I fear-quit like 6 times. I think.

Anyway it's not that bad, Horror games are fun
. It will increase your tension, Adrenaline, etc. It's a lot of fun even though I scared alot sometimes xD

If game causes you physical pain. That is not intended by the design.
