Launcher loop? - datrevsterbeast - 11-18-2012

I just downloaded Amnesia: The Dark Decent Demo. I start it and the launcher where you select your resolution and stuff was normal. I hit start and it ask if you want to run it (administrator), and when you click yes it opens up the launcher again. Help?
Does anyone know how to disable it asking for the administrator's permission?

Where did you get the game from? Also, try running the game via Amnesia.exe instead of Launcher.exe That may help

I got it from steam and also i tried that and it does the same thing.
Amnesia.exe opens the launcher but at the same time it opens the game when prompted. I tried to open just Amnesia.exe and it opens the lancher. I hit start, click yes and it opens the launcher again. If you get what I'm saying...

Verify the game via Steam.

Here's how:

1) Right click on game in Steam library
2) Click 'Properties'
3) Click on the 'Local Files' Tab
4) Click 'Verify integrity of game cache'

Update your graphics driver? Keep in mind that Intel HD is not always supported for Amnesia. I've never seen anything like this.

anyway, since you have an Intel card, try this Intel driver update tool: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Also, it might help to try launching Launcher.exe as administrator and if that doesn't work, try running Amnesia.exe as administrator.

This is a steam error, if file verification does not help then you might need to contact them.

And you have to use the have disk method mentioned in the AMD+Intel HD troubleshooting guide to update your graphics card.

All my graphics card drivers are up to date so i'll just contact steam and ask them.

Actually can anyone tell me how to take the administrator permissions thing off Amnesia.exe? That is the problem.

You can try running the game as an administrator by right clicking on in in Windows. Possibly, try playing the game with a user account that is administrator if your current account is not.
