Hitman Absolution - Bridge - 11-20-2012 Why is nobody talking about it on here? I've played it for like 2 hours and I think it's amazing so far. I am really impressed with pretty much every aspect of the game (apart from some minor nitpicks); it's off to an incredible start. Unfortunately I have a lot to do so I can't really play it that much until the weekend but I am loving it so far. For those of you that are worried about it maybe being too action oriented I don't think there's much cause for concern. Really all they have added to the Hitman formula is much better combat, the ability to take out enemies using your hands (both lethal and nonlethal), a good cover system, the ability to pick up a bunch of objects and use them as distractions/weapons and a great scorekeeping system. The fundamentals are all still there and I think actually enhanced. Now bear in mind these are just first impressions and I have only played through the first two missions. For all of you Hitman aficionados out there thinking you will have an easy time this is actually quite a difficult game on the Purist difficulty setting (I couldn't even finish the tutorial without getting detected) and I'm currently playing on the Hard difficulty (third most difficult) which I find pretty fair. I may even bump it up to Expert if I find it too easy, but for now it's pretty average. Also don't turn your nose up at the instinct mode before you try it, I find it fills a gaping hole that has always been present in the Hitman series. Here if you walk past a guard and he starts to get suspicious, the instinct will make 47 do something like scratch his neck, tip his hat or do anything to conceal his face or to act more natural. This is something an incognito assassin would do and I think it really makes disguising yourself feel more real. In the earlier games you would just try to keep as much distance between you and other guards and try not to run at all and 47 was always obvious as hell, which broke my immersion on more than one occasion. So while it may make your enemies instantly stop suspecting you (which I agree is kind of stupid) it makes more sense than just walking around with a stone face trying to face away from guards. Easy solution too - either don't use it and get caught or be a man and suit up! RE: Hitman Absolution - Hunter of Shadows - 11-21-2012 ...probably because my impression of it was along these lines HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA RE: Hitman Absolution - Rapture - 11-21-2012 Wall o' text... Guards... 47... 47... Easy Solution too - either don't use it and get caught or be a man and suit up". Hmm, doesn't seem like my kind of game tbh. RE: Hitman Absolution - Alex Ros - 11-21-2012 I wish to play it for a long time. I mean old Hitman releases. But 3d person view was always repelling me. I hate 3d person view in games. Is there an option to play Hitman: Absolution with a 1st person view? RE: Hitman Absolution - Prelauncher - 11-21-2012 I picked it up from the store yesterday but I have to wait untill the weekend to play it. I did watch the video by TB "WTF is: Hitman Absolution". One of his complaints was that they've gone for more linear missions ie. you start at point A and make your way to point B and things happen along the way. Do you think the linear level design have a bad impact on the game? I remember loving the previous Hitman games where you'd have a whole level free to explore. Hitman has always been a mix of linear levels and open areas and so far I can't really say Absolution leans on either too strongly. Two of the three levels I've played have been non-linear in the sense that you are not confined to one path, so it is difficult to say how the entire game is structured. I'm a diehard Hitman fan and I don't feel like I am stuck on rails so far, although the tutorial is annoyingly linear (but all of the Hitman tutorials have been). Honestly, I can't say. Quote:Wall o' text... Guards... 47... 47... Suit up is a reference to using only the starting clothes, which are 47's signature black suit/whatever regional clothes make sense, and is in most levels a real accomplishment, because it requires you to use line of sight based stealth rather than "social stealth" as it's often called. The instinct cannot be used to fool guards when you have nothing but your suit on, so my comment really just means: If you think instinct makes the game too easy either don't use it and get caught for seemingly nothing or be a man (because in the previous games it was often very dificult) and just use the suit/whatever. Quote:IDoesn't seem to be an option I'm afraid. Still, Hitman is a third person game; I couldn't imagine it any other way. I really recommend giving it a try, eventually I bet you won't notice it. RE: Hitman Absolution - wolfmaster1231 - 11-22-2012 What system are you playing on mate? RE: Hitman Absolution - Prelauncher - 11-23-2012 Just played the game for the first time, so far I really like it! The voice acting is great and the gameplay is very good. So far my main complaint is the AI, I've just finished The King of Chinatown and I found it very strange that every cop would stop to look at me even though I was moving through the crowd. Since I don't own a good computer I had to buy the game on 360. The graphics are good and the levels run quite well. On the downside the cutscenes are very laggy and there's a lot of screen tearing :/ |
