Ah, makes sense. But yeah, anime is animation from Japan or if it is based on a japanese manga/lightnovel but produced elsewhere.

Pokemon is 100 % japanese, it was a manga, then made into an anime, and then the card games and the video games.

I think Traggey is mistaken.
Pokemon was a videogame before anything else, correct?
In fact, wasn't the manga made as a response to the anime, which the creator of the games felt didn't properly portray his vision?
It seems like you couldn't have gotten it more wrong then you did.

I assume I would love it too, I've read a lot positive things about it, but after seeing it has like 110 episodes... Hnghhh.., I am not familiar with longer lasting animes, I don't simply have time.
Maybe when I retire.

They are remaking it, so you will be able to watch it one episode per week if time is an issue.
