Idea(s) Thread... aka Super Thread - The Rock Worm - 01-05-2013

To help keep me from posting too many threads on this forum, I've decided to start this thread. Basically, whenever I or any of you feel the need to discuss a topic with a large group of people, post it here. I know I will comment on it, and I'm sure everyone else who wants to will as well.

Well andyrockin123, this thread is exactally that. A place where all of our ideas can be placed in one Thread. Basically this is a thread made up of threads

Rules of this Thread:

1: The rules of this forum still apply; so follow them.

2: No 'random stuff' or 'random shit'-related items. This thread is for topics that would have been a seperate thread but is now a part of this Super-Thread. Now if you want to discuss some video (for example) you've found online, that's allowed.

3: Have fun!

Let's start off with something interesting:

As some of you may or may not know, a Titanic 2 ship will start production some time this year and her maiden voyage will be in 2016. Her voyage will be the very same one that the first Titanic never got to finish. This new Titanic will include--

1: Modern navigational system to be sure to steer clear of those icebergs!

2: Disel driven, so the smoke stacks (while still there), are just for show.

3: I would naturally assume more lifeboats as the first Titanic had to few, and the ones that were used were not filled to capacity.

The design, as you can guess, is almost exactally as the original Titanic's. It would certainly be neat to walk on her decks and see what it' like.

What do you think? Would you board her or not (if able)?

RE: Idea(s) Thread... aka Super Thread - Nice - 01-05-2013

really ? wow i didnt know that, if i had the money i'd board dat ship, obviously. I wonder how much a ticket going to cost...

RE: Idea(s) Thread... aka Super Thread - The chaser - 01-05-2013

Well, my job is to create a "dolanberg" in order to destroy that ship.
Now, going seriously, I would like to know it's mechanism. It would be cool that it worked with an electrical motor, or that the engineers and such had make-up simulating to be the original titanic tripulation.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it sank again?

Gee I hadn't thought of that.

Found this site http://www.webtitanic.net/framemaid.html that has the following on this ticket subject--

Prices

Price to build Titanic
Then: $7,500,000
Now: $400,000,000

Price for one-way tickets
First Class (parlor suite): £870/$4,350 ($50,000 today)
First Class (berth): £30/$150 ($1724 today)
Second Class: £12/$60 ($690 today)
Third Class: £3 to £8/$40 ($172 to $460 today)

Other
Cost for a Turkish or Electric Bath: $1 ($5 today)
Cost to send Marconi Wireless Telegram: 12 shillings and sixpence/$3.12 ($36 today), for the first 10 words, and 9 pence per word thereafter.
Passenger telegrams sent & received during the voyage: over 250.

I certainly hope it isn't $50K for the Titanic 2! I'd have to win the lottery just to board her (for first class that is)! $690 and below wouldn't be too bad though.

That would be extremely hilarious, and less tragic because this time(hopefully) they will have enough rescue boats. Oh man, I'm almost hoping it would sink!

What if they build it... to sink?

And selling tickets like:
"Try how it was when Titanic sunk! Feel the boat crash against the iceberg, and jump into a rescue boat to be saved from the tragic death in the icecold ocean. Or choose to float on a door that barely fits 2 persons"

Then we'd need to have this concept by DirtyColumbus into the Titanic 2 http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/068/0/0/titanic_transformer_vs_iceberg_by_dirtycolumbus-d3b91yn.jpg

EDIT: Just found image showing off the new features for the Titanic 2 http://www.titanicnorden.com/fakta/pics/titanic22.jpg

A Titanic 2 would be cool. Anyway, my idea:

It would be nice if the world had another manned moon mission. With the technology we have we could probably set up a colony on the moon! Which would probably take a billion dollars... but in the governments and really rich mans world: A million dollars to them is like 25 cents.

RE: Idea(s) Thread... aka Super Thread - Zaffre - 01-05-2013

A moon colony, albeit VERY expensive, would be possible.

You would need...
  1. Greenhouses for oxygen
  2. Airlocks
  3. Housing
  4. Entertainment
  5. A way of providing food
  6. Space suits
Among others. It would be expensive but it would mark a point in human history; when humans settled down on an extraterrestrial moon/rock.
One small step for man, one giant leap for moon aliens. Big Grin
