Missing diary note (trapped) - Margaret - 02-10-2013
Hi, I'm stuck in the Local History room. I broke through the wall, found the secret room and key but I'm stuck here. Tried everything and finally resorted to a walkthrough. It says that the door of the library should break when I find the key, but that doesn't happen. It seems I'm missing the part of the diary that should trigger a scene with a blue orb. According to the walkthrough this should be in the Maps room, but the note I found there (Algeria 2/3) just talked about a slab falling and trapping him.
I tried restarting the section, and reinstalling the game, but am still stuck in the same place. Can anyone help, as I like this game and want to continue.
If it's relevant, I bought the game retail, from EB Games (Australia)

If i'm right, the wall where the hole was, there should be a room in the left. Picking a diary in that room will trigger the orb flashback.

Thanks, but the problem was that the note I got in that room was the previous note (the one that talks about the rock collapsing). I still don't know what went wrong, but I started the game over from the start, and this time it worked. I think I missed finding a note earlier on, and that messed up the sequence.
Anyway, all good now; thanks for replying so quickly.

No problemo! I always fix problems (not to quick, though.). And in Amnesia's scripting, if one thing is wrong, all goes wrong.

Actually, notes don´t have any relationship with that. I mean, you can pick up the notes or not, and you can continue if you don´t find/mind them.
