Penumbra Episode one crashes when launching - Steam - 05-01-2008 Hey all, I minstalled Penumbra episode one, but when I try to launch it crashes and a black box appears. My System is Windows XP Home Edition 512mb, 2.1GHZ, NividaGeforce FX5200. There is standing in the Black Box: Penumbra.exe caused anEXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module nvopenal.dll at 001B:039090CA Hope somebody can help me!! Thanks and best regards!! Then uninstall the old driver, restart the computer and then install the new one to make sure it is updated properly. Did you install the latest patch? Anyways, as Thomas said, post your hpl.log so we can check whats going on. Check here: http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/78/ For the second computer. It is a problem with the graphics card. What card does that computer have? Make sure that the graphics card drivers are up to date. |
