Enjoy Your Stay at Hotel Brennenburg! - NotchsNemisis - 02-20-2013

My first custom story, so I am horrible at map making, but I love the scripting part.

Here's what the story is about:

You are a detective by the name of Blane, working to investigate the unknown events at Brennenburg Castle from the 1800s. Night has come after the first day of investigation, so you decide to stay at a hotel which is a replica of a castle, and something strange occurs and the hotel employees run to alert everyone, you find many strange happenings while leaving the hotel, are these the events that happened at Brennenburg? You must escape the hotel, but first, take care of one thing.

PLEASE READ:
I know, it's really bad mapping and I didn't do too much with the Lobby or Mess Hall(which sucks) but please, tell me if the story is enjoyable, as I'd LOVE to do a 2nd chapter, with more time and effort of courseBig Grin

I'll give a shot, screens are pretty bad and not much detailed. :x

First screenshot: NEVER put lantern oils/tinderboxes/sanity potions EVERYWHERE! We've discussed this once!

Third screenshot: Too bright. If light was traveling throughout the room, use a more darker color! And it's too empty. A lobby usually have desks and stuff.

Advices.
As i see it, most light doesn't blended in together. Use a boxlight with low values (0.01, 0.01, 0.01. You don't have to do anything with the Alpha.)at each map with each covering the entire level. Also, it's too empty. Use decals and stuff. Putting little details makes your map better. A hotel lobby with a vast space, but no desk or something?

EDIT: I also liked your signature. It's as if that dude just saw a fully erect p**is.

Ok..
Hre is my review.
For your first story this is ok.. but still too short and too many glitched stuff around.
Some part are ok but overall there is so less details...
i give this a 5\10
Mainly cause the lag of detaild mappings and glitches..
Also next time check out how stuff in real life works..
like a hammer... never seen hammers standing like that?...
or some of the dead bodys sitting... their legs are inside the tables???
fix that and make your next cs better \ more detailed \ LESS enemys in such a short period..
Then you will get higher rates.

Issues:
1. When i saw the monster, he stopped at certain parts then resume walking.
2. The Monster didn't despawn. I had to run really fast to get away.
3. The tilling looks ridiculous.

Advices.
Lobby - Light doesn't blend and looks really bright. Cover the entire area with a boxlight with the value of 0.01, 0.01, 0.01. Also, reduce the brightness in the pointlight.
All maps - Change the tilling to either 0.75/0.5/0.25. Experiment with it. Also, change the monster's. They didn't despawn and makes (to me, personally.) me frustrating.
