20 FPS while recording - Jastrzab - 03-05-2013 Hi guys. I've got a problem with recording Amnesia. I have tried every program to record but my problem still existed. That when i'm recording a video in game i have 20 fps maximum including the moment when i set graphics on totally low. But when i play without recording i have 60+ fps. I tried to record by fraps, dxtory, action!, bandicam and still this fps are low as hell. I have been searching for answers on the forum but i couldn't find them. My PC: AMD Phenom x4 955 3,2ghz Asus GTX460 DCU Kingston HyperX 1600mhz 8GB Asrock 870 Extreme R2.0 Thanks a lot for help RE: 20 FPS while recording - Statyk - 03-05-2013 You don't have FPS cap on your recording software set to 20fps? I use FRAPS and set the FPS cap to 30fps. RE: 20 FPS while recording - Yuhaney - 03-05-2013 What resolution and fps you try to record? RE: 20 FPS while recording - Acies - 03-05-2013 Recording requires CPU power (more so in case of compression) and harddrive write speed (moreso in case of lossless format). - In case you record with fraps/dxtory do you set it to a lossless format? Try measuring your writespeed of the hardrive using dxtory. In case it is very low try removing some files and perform a defrag. Download "speedfan" and check your CPU temperature when recording. In case it is very high you could clean your CPU fan, as that might bring temperatures down and remove lag. Before you start cleaning it, unplug the power to your computer. Grab ahold of your computer case and keep your hand at the endpoint of your vaccum cleaner to remove the possibility of a static discharge. RE: 20 FPS while recording - maarten12100 - 03-05-2013 You should never record to the hard drive of which you are loading the game files while writing uncompressed video to them. Unless you have an ssd you should use another dedicated hard drive for it. Also a lot of cpu power is required as mentioned above. RE: 20 FPS while recording - Jastrzab - 03-05-2013 I have set FPS Cap to 60fps. I'm trying to record full size (1440x900) and half size. There is no difference. I tried to record on all formats in dxtory. I'm almost sure it is not my pc fault. I can record games like Far Cry 3 or FEAR 3 without any problems. I have just tried to save recorded video on other hdd disc but this didn't work. :/ RE: 20 FPS while recording - Yuhaney - 03-05-2013 Try setting it to 30 frames and untick 'Lock framerate while recording' and/or 'Force lossless RGB capture' if you have them ticked. Most likely the problem is a combination of CPU and slow HDD with too high demands within program. I did what you told and there's still the same :/ The demands are not a problem i think in this game. I have recorded for example Far Cry 3 without any problems. All this think is very strange +I'd like to say that i have 20 fps when i record the main menu too! |
