That's just because the new Tomb Raider is really good.
You can't say that to so much other modern games.
Most games today are trash being only made for tedium mainstream to get fast money. But Tomb Raider is an adventure with focus on exploration. Of course, there is a lot of action and shooting, but that doesn't break the immersion. It's also dependent how you play this game. There is a story, very good locations, dungeons to explore with puzzles, there is much more than in a pure ego-shooter.
I like adventures since playing "Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine" which is still the best adventure, but Tomb Raider is very similar and today it's rare to get a versatile game like this. And when you play on "hard" and never use survival instinct mode, Tomb Raider will be an experience!

Well I know it's good, it's the first new release I've seen get great reviews on the escapist in some time
