Ideas to fill up the space? - Romulator - 04-16-2013

Spoiler below!

In my FC, I have this large room in the beginning of the game. In the storyline, this room used to be a ballroom. I'm not one to model much, so does anybody have any specific ideas I could do to fill up the space or sort of give it some design using the models already which already exist in Amnesia? I was thinking maybe some tables with some flowers around the border, but didn't want to be too repetitive. This is just for the bottom floor, the upstairs area is fine as it is IMO (there are two rooms and the next level door above me, and one level door just to the right of the players position (offscreen).)

First post on Page 2 has the updated images. Smile

Add some carpets, some tables maybe. A fireplace, windows.

Definitely windows, with long fancy curtains. I've never seen a ball room without windows, it's usually one of the brightest lit rooms in a castle. You need at least one side of the room to consist of nothing but huge windows, imo! Right now it looks like the room is right in the middle of the building with no wall that faces the outside.
You could also place some sort of little stage for the musicians, with the piano on it and some decorative elements around, to emphazise the "ballroom" aspect more.

Well, if there is going to be (a lot of) windows, time to edit the landscape Smile
Speaking of curtains, where are they located in Amnesia's models (if any)?

a huge window on the ceiling

I do not recommend using a window in the ceiling. Not in the mansionbase theme.
Use some shelves, with books, sofas and sofatables, carpets, chandeliers.
It's ok to have space, as long as it's not clean floor. Carpets are good to use in spaces.

The issue with this is that there are rooms above Tongue

Static objects > ornaments

For curtains and carpets

Ah-ha! Found them now Smile +rep haha

==EDIT==
I've added in a piano on a small stage. When you interact with it, I want it to play some ballroom music called ballroom.ogg
Using PlayMusic(), can I make it play the song around the piano only, or would I have to make a .snt and use PlaySoundAtEntity()?

.snt is the easiest way.
