RE: Maya help - OriginalUsername - 05-17-2013 Hey, I have another question, so I'll just bump this thread again! I want to apply a AO map to my textures (Or just use a AO map, I'm not sure how it works) and I know one of you gave me a link to a tutorial, but I lost it. Could that person resend it or if anyone knows a good tut, please link it Thanks RE: Maya help - Traggey - 05-17-2013 If you don't have a high poly of your object to bake an AO from you can download and try out KNALD whilst it's still in beta, bakes great LP AO maps. I'm just trying to let wood look like wood a bit more. I thought AO did that, right? And thanks, I'll try that RE: Maya help - Traggey - 05-17-2013 (05-17-2013, 08:22 PM)Smoke Wrote:(05-17-2013, 07:11 PM)Traggey Wrote: If you don't have a high poly of your object to bake an AO from you can download and try out KNALD whilst it's still in beta, bakes great LP AO maps. No, AO = Ambient Occlusion, is a black and white texture rendered out which contains shadows, you usually overlay this ontop of your diffuse texture to give it more depth. RE: Maya help - OriginalUsername - 05-17-2013 Oh okay, I'm just getting the maps mixed up I guess :S RE: Maya help - OriginalUsername - 05-18-2013 Okay, is there a way to make wood look a little more like wood? RE: Maya help - Traggey - 05-18-2013 Use wood to overlay ontop of your wood. It'll make it look like wood. http://www.cgtextures.com/textures.php?t=browse&q=427 RE: Maya help - OriginalUsername - 05-18-2013 (05-18-2013, 06:24 PM)Traggey Wrote: Use wood to overlay ontop of your wood. Go watch my texturing tutorial. http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-21311.html RE: Maya help - OriginalUsername - 05-18-2013 (05-18-2013, 06:43 PM)Traggey Wrote: Wfhagh.... What? Using your AO..? I uh.. Go watch my texturing tutorial. I really don't know what the AO actually is, except for details (Some tutorial said that) Sorry for that. I really don't know what I'm talking about. You said overlap, so my mind said: "He means putting a thing on top of your texture!" I'm not sure why.. |
