In AAMFP's case the delays are completely justified and are geared towards polishing and improving the game, whereas games like DNF were delayed because of managerial cocksuckery and similar bureaucratic nonsense. So I agree with bluel0bster that AAMFP will definitely benefit from the extra time, but it's not a general rule that time = quality.

I'm not sure what calibre of developer the DNF team had but I doubt their skills or dedication were the cause of it being such a warm turd. This is why FG & TCR are so exciting to me; AAMFP is developed by people with no one to answer to and who are motivated purely by the love of what they do.

Yeah, most companies today made games and stuff just because the money. They're becoming greedy. Most games are made with haste just to hit the deadline. Indie companies doesn't have a deadline. They want the game to be really good.

The time = quality thing only applies to Indie developers.

Then again, I could be mistaken.

I know this does not pertain to the current topic but on the FG blog they have changed the colour scheme: http://frictionalgames.blogspot.com.au/ Look at the banner image too, I wonder if it could be a little teaser for their 'super seceret' project, if you remember the concept art I sent some time ago you may notice a resembelance. :O

In this thread exactly.

Well that was, ahem... A long-winded discussion; anyway, it looks interesting, even though it was pointed out, I like that this new game - from what I've seen - looks very alien and aquatic.

RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion Topic Part 2 - Newsman Waterpaper - 05-30-2013

Since the game is delayed to Q3.My bet that game will be released early august just to piss off TerrorLantern >Smile

RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion Topic Part 2 - Ossie - 05-30-2013

Given Jen's remark a few pages back:

"We know we will not make Q2 (2013), we also know when the game will
be ready for launch. We have not set the exact day yet. You can however
make good use of the weather outside this summer and look forward to
gaming with the piggies as the summer comes to an end."

Depending on how much you analyse that you could argue that summer will come to an end at different times in different parts of the world! End of August sounds like a good average, although I'd say that the release is now unlikely to be until September. Besides, who wants to play a horror game when it's hot and sunny? It's got to be cold, dark, windy and raining outside. Smile

End of summer is August, meaning mid-Q3.
