Even something simple like posting the lyrics for mors praematura couldn't be done on time

I think they'd pretty much forgotten to put them up. They were probably distracted by something else... a game under development, for example?

Hi!
I've been lurking here for a while and I can say that I can't wait for the game to release too. I discovered Frictional Games with PewDiePie videos when Amnesia got released on Steam. I bought it instantly and I really loved the game. I did a first playthrough with a friend (because I couldn't play alone, it was my first experience on a horror game), and I did another one alone.

I left the game there for a couple of years until I discovered speedruns. I was always watching live speedruns of games on Twitch, and I saw an Amnesia speedrun. I got me really interested and I wanted to try it. I practiced a lot and now my personal best is 35 minutes and 10 seconds.

Developers seems to think that speedrunning is bad for their games, but I seriously love when there are a lot of possibilities to finish the game faster. Polishing everything and removing ALL glitches is kind of sad for a player like me, who like to do normal playthroughs and then having fun speedrunning it.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe Frictional Games saw some of our speedruns on Twitch or YouTube, and now they don't want to see us "break" their game, so they're trying to patch everything up. I don't believe they did that much polishing and tweaking on The Dark Descent, since they didn't see how far can speedrunners go. But actually, the glitches we find doesn't spoil the experience of other players. I didn't have any glitches in my first playthroughs.

I don't really care either if they still want to delay it. I'm a big fan of their games now, and if they still think the game isn't ready, well what can we do? It's their game after all. I'm pretty sure they want it to be perfect, even if it won't be. Simply because no game can reach perfection, or almost.

They've been polishing for many months now, you think it's still gonna be buggy and shitty, especially when we're so close to the release anyway? They're gonna have a seriously upset fanbase if they manage to somehow delay it again. So it's really not a surprise that many people are getting impatient at this point.

If it were finished, they'd be preparing for launch. Why would they delay a game if it was finished? That doesn't make sense.

Yeah, 2/3 of this thread is completely not related with AAMFP.

I've lost all the excitement I've had for months and months for this game.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of waiting for this shit.

The game's finished for TCR's part. All that is left is polishing. I guess you could call it unfinished in that case, but they're merely doing small bug fixes, translating etc. so in theory it's finished.

So basically... I wish they could release a demo so we could try it out. But it would only waste their time I guess.

It's pointless though (if true) people WILL break their game. Mark my words. Every single game out there has glitches, and no amount of work will stop that. Developers will ALWAYS overlook something and have their game glitched/broken in some way. If you work hard enough, you'll glitch an area. Some of the most solid games out there I even broke with a friend last year or so and found countless glitches in them. Do they really want to compromise the game just for some sort of foolish pride of not having their game glitched? Us gamers like finding glitches anyways so what's the harm?

True. I hope FG aren't that concerned about speedrunners finding ways to glitch themselves through the game. That would be a total waste of time and not necessary. I do hope though that the effort they put in now with polishing and whatever reduces the amount of glitches for players experiencing the game in more "traditional" ways Tongue
