Decals disappear in editor upon reload - JonnyAnomaly - 05-12-2013

Hi all,

I'm having a new issue with a decal of mine that I'm trying to use. I can place them and see them in the editor, but whenever the map is reloaded in the editor, they are invisible. They are always visible in the game, just not in the editor. I can select them and see the selection highlight, but the actual texture is not visible. It makes it really difficult to then move them around later on! Does anyone know why this might happen?

Hmm.. The editor seems to "forget" about cubemaps if placed in the "wrong directory" - you can still load them up fine, but they will be gone upon the next load up of the map.

Could it possibly be something like that?

I never use decals, so cannot provide any further guesses ^^

Ah, I think you're right. I've noticed that my other decals that are working every time are in a different directory. Strange that they work at first, and then disappear. I'm trying using them to add variation to a terrain, like you see paths in games that are more gravel which blend into grass, etc.

If the decal is NOT in the surface of a model, it will become invisible.

In your resources.cfg in the root Amnesia folder, add a directory leading to the folder that holds the decal and it should load it.
