Amnesia Starts Up then Stops Responding - GeekyTweeky - 07-27-2013

I'm not very good with the whole computer thing,I know my system can run Slenderman The Arrival just fine,but when I start up Amnesia,I get past the logos and past the notes at the beginning (Gamm setting,warnings,etc) then once I get to the loading screen it stops responding?
Can someone help me figure out what's wrong?

There doesn't seem to be a problem at the log but based on a previous experience with a user trying to play Amnesia using a touch interface I think that the game is not touch-compatible. I have not verified that though, yet. Maybe Jens knows more.

In the meantime, try running it as an administrator and check the troubleshooting guide for known programs that cause launch problems.

I ran it as administrator through launcher ,and even then it still isn't working properly,it does the same thing.

And I don't use my touch screen though,I use a regular keyboard and mouse,but do you think it's because it's a touch interface?It's so weird.
As I said,I can run Unreal Engine 3 games fine a,d stuff,but this game just won't work properly,doesn't seem to like my computer maybe.

This problem happens when something is wrong with the operating system. Maybe a program that causes problems, a setting, service or something. It's computer specific issue and that's why I don't know what could be causing it.

At the launcher, try selecting windowed mode and lower/disable all the graphical settings as much as possible.

That was what I just did and not even that worked.
If it is a program I don't know which it would be,my computer is new,I only got it a week ago too.

You tried windowed mode? It's not really a problem so don't worry for your computer. More like an...incompatibility or interference.

Yes.
And if it's an interference,is there any way to check too see what program could be interfering with the game?

If it was me I would have done it but it's not that easy to tell it to other people. Try closing/exiting programs running in the background like hp stuff, etc... Also, the antivirus.

I ran Task Manager and closed everything,and ran the game again,even as administrator,and still acted the same.So I can't figure this out,not giving up though,I really do want to play this game.
I just think it's weird I can get past all the start up stuff,but even if I get past the loading screen and to the Create a Profile,it still stops responding.

1) Make sure your dpi is set to 100% (can rarely cause issues).
2) Go to Documents and delete the folder Amnesia.
3) Let's try running the game itself as an administrator. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Amnesia The Dark Descent. Right click Amnesia.exe, go to compatibility and select Run this program as an administrator. Click OK and execute Amnesia.exe.

After that, attach the new HPL.log file again.
