You're very talented. I'd like to see more. RE: magic with hpl2 engine - Statyk - 08-17-2013 Awesome stuff! I must ask though, did you use decals with cubemaps to make the reflective water on the ground? I'm curious as to how you did them as I was planning to do such a thing myself. RE: magic with hpl2 engine - anton - 08-17-2013 Actually what i did was just using a reflectionmask with very strong reflection where the waterpile is and made sure the normalmap was "blank " ie flat around thoose area (you can use a little downwards bevel aswell if u wanna give the impression its a gap) For the heavy rain i used quite an interesting techniqe with animated textures in the specular channel .. the following techniques: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5z7cz88T_2s/Ugl4k4YAfTI/AAAAAAAAAGA/y6ALYOOT6Mg/s1600/rain_breakdown.jpg The engine is amizingly powerful if u use it right. The engine IS quite capable of interesting things when you think outside of the box. I made a hologram effect on a model once and it was so much fun to come up with. I still can't get over your rain design, a great effect for an engine that wasn't necessarily designed for it. I hope you don't mind me taking in some inspiration from this. =] RE: magic with hpl2 engine - The chaser - 08-17-2013 (08-17-2013, 02:44 AM)anton Wrote: Used hpl2 for a scene in my demoreel to see how much i could push the engine.
