I think you're saying it wrong... It's a short I, as in "it". It's "mark-ih-plyer". You're saying "mark-ee-plyer", as in Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
Honestly, all you had to do was watch the first 10 seconds of absolutely any of his videos and you wouldn't have sounded so ignorant.

FYI, that is known as a portmanteau. Why do you guys all hate facecam so much? If it's not abused it's simply a way to see the person who's doing the let's play which is a great thing in my opinion (if it's unintrusive).

I actually like facecam. What I don't like is when a youtuber purposely exaggerates their facial expressions for the camera. For example, there was a Markiplier let's play (the first I saw of his, don't remember the name) where the game started and a really innocent "scare" was a wheelchair slowly rolling across the floor. His face immediately did a ridiculous shocked expression with his mouth doing a perfect upside-down D. I immediately thought my god, I don't know if I can keep watching this. That's what I don't like (and no, they don't all do this). I do like his voice though so I actually like him when he doesn't use facecam. With facecam, I find him unbearable.

Oh I see what you did there OP hahahaha.
And I don't like facecam. I prefer audio only in the lets plays I enjoy watching.
I feel odd being part of the minority that doesn't enjoy lets plays of Frictional Games' games.
I watched a few minutes of a walk through of Black Plague (to get a sense of the flow of the game)before I bought the collection but that's about it.
