EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error on startup - Drak - 09-10-2013
I'm getting an expection error the moment I try running the game, i've tried running the game on the lowest settings as well as running it with administrator rights.
PC Specs:
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 - 3770k @ 3.5GHz
RAM: 16gb 1600mhz
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4-TH
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 590
if anyone could help, i'd appreciate it.

Did you try to update your drivers?

Nvidia Drivers are at 326.80, which are the latest "functional" beta drivers.
I could try going up to 326.98 with opengl 4.4 support, but I don't think that will work.

This issue is currently being investigated, we have not managed to nail down the cause yet.

I fixed it on my end, it was my Razer Atrox Arcade Stick, I unplugged it and now the game launches fine.
Seems like the game doesn't take kindly to gaming controllers.

Kidding? I have 7 external controllers on system, but sorry dont want to be a scuba below my desk when Id like to play the new Amnesia and after Id like to play my air simulators.
If You have right - I hope They do a small fix Today for this or maybe different thing?
If not, requirements needs be updated:
"The game requires disconnect of all controllers except the keyboard and mouse" (but I cant agree with this).

Has anyone tried a restart of their computer? It seemed to fix what I ran into (http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-22818.html); it's probably worth a shot.

I did restart. Still too same. Looks like USB connection problem with: pads, joystics, cameras, other USB tools.

I'm certain that the error appears due to different issues as well, as I stated, it's only a fix on my end, the way to fix this could be completely different for others.
