A missing file - Desura - saiyan - 09-10-2013

I rarely buy PC games so excuse me if the answer is obvious. I've been looking around and can't find a answer. I see people list the specs so I have Windows 7 Home Premium. 64-bit OS.

I bought the game through Desura. I had to download Desura first, then I started downloading AAMFP about an hour ago and when it was finished, I clicked on launch game but a window popped up saying "The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

When it says to reinstall, I have to reinstall Desura and Amnesia? Couldn't I just download that one file that's missing? I'm not sure why it wouldn't download that file to begin with though.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok I clicked on that link and my WinRaR got aamfp.exe. I'm sorry but I thought I needed another file. If this file fixes, where do I put the aamfp.exe?

According to the devs:

Quote:Updated to a version that doesnt require MSVCR100D.dll

Is the game from steam or a DRM-free copy?

RE: A missing file - Desura - saiyan - 09-10-2013

It's not from steam. Two days ago I went to Desura website, had to download that. Then that same night I preordered the game. I paid $15. Then this morning I downloaded the game from Desura. So this file, do I drag it anywhere? Geez sorry if this is easy and I sound like an idiot. The only other PC game I have is the first Amnesia and that didn't really give me problems.

Oups, brain-fart. Desura was on the title. Sorry, I'm tired.

I don't know where desura keeps the games but you have to find the Amnesia A Machine for Pigs directory and place the test .exe file there replacing the old aampf.exe.

RE: A missing file - Desura - saiyan - 09-10-2013

Think I found it.

Computer > Local Disk (CSmile > Program Files (X86) > Desura > Common > amnesia-a-machine-for-pigs > redist

Then I see a file that just says aamfp. When I check the properties, it says type of file: application (.exe)

So this is where I place that fix I downloaded? I replace that right?

Oh... I didn't mean to do that smily face. I meant Local Disk (CSmile

What... I clicked on disable smilies on the second message. Well you get it right?

Yes that seems to be correct location to put the file.

RE: A missing file - Desura - saiyan - 09-10-2013

Ok I did, then it asked me to move and replace which I did. Now I go back to Desura and try to play the game but the exact same window pops up. I'm missing MSVCP100.dll and says I should try reinstalling the program

Don't mean to bug you guys but does this mean I just kind of have to wait until some fix happens? I also clicked on the new replaced file in the redist folder and it tells me the same thing.

I have to go for a little bit. I should be back within the next hour. I hope someone can help me here. I haven't been able to play the game Sad

Someone else mentioned this but he had the steam version. Might be a rare issue. Either way, you can manually try to download this file and place it at the same directory as aamfp.exe:
