RE: Crash throughout playthrough, now crashing at the same place every time.(SPOILERS) - VTTM - 09-14-2013

So, I've just got this from a friend and I'll finally be able to finish the game. Hope this works for you.

It's the very least they could have done to let us finish the gameplay, but once again, thanks for the help, guys! ¬¬

Just paste it into the save log folder and you should be able to load it and continue already on the next phase.

Both of you have Intel HD 4000 graphics cards. Due to bad Intel drivers all such graphics cards are not supported. I haven't seen anyone with an Nvidia graphics card that couldn't fix his/her problem after a driver reinstall, file integrity check etc. So yes, it's just Intel cards.

Yesterday I tested my Intel HD 4000 with the latest Intel drivers (released like 3 days ago) and they are broken like hell when it comes to OpenGL gaming. The game would freeze to anything above Low at the launcher which finally let me understand that SSAO crashes it and performance was very bad. On the other hand, my Intel HD 3000 played the 1st and 2nd level at High settings without problems. I don't know if later on something will emerge but you can clearly see that this has to do with badly written drivers. Guys, it's all about drivers and Intel is the king when it comes to horrible OpenGL support. That's why no support can be given for these cards. All you can do is try older/newer Intel drivers to see if anything works the way it should.

run the game at all lowest possible graphics and Everything unchecked.

This guy. the game apparently uses the shitty built in intel card by default, I have already played through the whole thing thanks to VTTM's save file(with the game crashing 1 more time afterwards). but yah, you guys should point that out to laptop users since most people who use 'laptops' to play Amnesia propably have a similar sort of thing going on, perhaps.

Thank you for being the only person to actually give a **** about our problem.

Intel or not Intel, it doesn't change the fact that TDD never gave me any problems on my laptop. Sometimes simpler is better.

[EDIT] Oh, and I seriously don't think it'd be any wrong to let the save file available in your guide for people who are using Intel, as it is clear this is the only part in the whole game where no configuration changing will let you go through, and also a great pity that an Intel card user can play everything except for the end. This would be a fix, sorta of.
