AMD 8800M Stuttering - Piscator - 10-10-2013 Help please. I have a Laptop Samsung Chronos 7 series with an Intel 4000 HD card but for 3D applications it uses the ATI 8800M series. The hpl.log lists the Intel card while the launcher recognizes the ATI card but on auto-detect tells me the card is not listed. Now I am getting a strange stuttering whenever my FPS drop below 60. Even at 58 the game stutters horribly when set to the ATI 8800M card. I tried all different settings, resolutions, fps cap off etc. The thing is that even at a rather high setting my FPS never drop below 45 fps but 45 or 59 it stutters if it is not 60 or more. In my book 45 fps is still well playable and of course so should 59 fps be. However if I try to play with the Intel card on power-saving settings the FPS seem capped at 30 fps and the game runs smoothly at 30 fps. If the FPS drop anywhere below 30 fps though it starts to stutter the same way. Now is there a way to set the FPS cap to a set value? My logic tells me if I set it to 30 or 40 FPS and using the 8800M card it should run smoothly as long as i does not drop below the set value. Any help is appreciated. Help please. edit: I tried 3 different ATI drivers, no difference there. RE: AMD 8800M Stuttering - Piscator - 10-11-2013 Anyone any idea? I also tried reinstalling the game and using Radoesn Pro trying to lock the framerate. Nothing seems to change this. Maybe try updating both Intel HD & AMD graphics card drivers to the latest possible by the official websites. RE: AMD 8800M Stuttering - Piscator - 10-12-2013 Thanks. Now that is disappointing from AMD's side I have to say. I mean it is 2013. The game runs ok most of the times but the strange stuttering is very annoying at times. Thank you for the answer again. |
