And it's really nice of you to dig up the subject again. Case closed.

It is going to be first person. I think it was mentioned on the website if I'm not mistaken. Wink

If its scarier than previous games then the obvious choice for a name is Umbra since thats the DARKEST part of the shadow.

Back to the secret message:

I decoded the first part and it is just an anagram:

"These hole digging critters have a population that increase rapidly. There must be a way to track this development and make the infestation come to an end."

Then I organized the first row numbers this way:
3, 9, 7,
4, 8, 9,
5, 7, 11,
6, 6, 13,
7,

Read them in column: the first is the preceding +1; the second is the preceding -1; the second is the preceding +2.
Is this the series we have to put an end to?

Not sure about the remaining lines.

What do you think?

Wow, this is great news! Those images look great, very nice and scary design especially on the one with the hanging chains and strange machine in the center. I'm glad that you plan on creating a much more open game world, it's something I wished for when playing the Penumbra games. It will be fun exploring an old castle with more than one direction to go in. I think a more open game play and story telling is the way of the future in gaming. Also, I hope you guys stay with the Lovecraft inspired type of horror as in Penumbra, I'm a big fan of his novels.

Will this still keep the adventure/puzzle aspects of the Penumbra games?
If so, will there still be a focus on physics based puzzles? Harder puzzles I hope? Tongue

Good luck on the game, I don't think you'll disappoint your fans. Smile

I noticed that the S is used most, 9 times. All in different places. So that should most likely be the letter "e" according to wikipedia.

The last sentence. If it's a cryptogram. Wink

piibii Wrote:A non-linear Penumbra-style game set in 18th century? Sounds pretty promising!

In that case it's: Penumbra-style roleplaying game. Tongue
